How to Eat Your Way Around NoDa: A Foodie's Guide - Charlotte, NCIf you’re a foodie living in North Davidson, or NoDa as the locals call it, then you probably already know the best places to eat. Just in case you haven’t learned about all the coolest restaurants, here are some you must try to be considered a NoDa foodie.

Haberdish

At Haberdish, you’ll find Southern-inspired food that is responsibly and locally sourced. This means that the chickens come from Springer Mountain farms in Georgia where they are vegetarian-fed with pesticide-free food. The Snowflake flour comes from a family-run mill in Henderson, and the pork from Beeler Farm, where the pigs are able to move around and socialize.

Dishes include fried chicken, charred okra, sweet potato dumplings, grits, and mac and cheese. All your favorite Southern dishes are represented here. This restaurant is open Tuesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Kindred

The chefs at Kindred let the seasons drive the menu, so you might find new dishes every time you go there. Dishes that you might find at dinner, though, include red curry sweet potato soup, crispy oysters, ravioli with country ham and pea shoots, spring onion rigatoni, and Hamachi crudo. Lunch items have some of the same dishes, but you also might find a skillet burger, BBQ pork shoulder, and a falafel.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dinner Tuesday through Saturday. It’s closed on Sunday and Monday.

Sabor Latin Street Grill

Sabor Latin Street Grill has a total of six locations in the Charlotte area, including in NoDa. This locally owned restaurant borrows flavors from countries like Venezuela, Mexico, El Salvador, and Colombia. This grill has one goal: to provide fresh, delicious food with bold flavors that come from south of the border.

Every day of the week is a different special. Tuesday are all about tacos, when you can get tacos for just $1. On Wednesdays, kids eat free. You can get half-price craft beers on Saturday and on Sunday, you pay just $1.50 for domestic beers.

DeSano Pizzeria Napoletana

If you just need a good, wood-fired pizza, you’ll find it at DeSano. Here you’ll find authentic Neapolitan pizza. Some of their specialties include diavola, napoletana, and pomodorini. Other food options include calzones, salads, and desserts that include cannoli.

At this restaurant, the chefs only use the highest quality Italian ingredients. In fact, the ingredients are flown in weekly from Napoli and Campania. That means that the food you eat here really is authentically Italian. As you bite into your pizza, just picture yourself eating at a pizzeria along the Fontana di Trevi without leaving North Carolina. DeSano is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

With these four locations to try, you’re sure to find a new gem that you love. If you end up trying any of these great NoDa restaurants, come back and let us know what you thought.
