No matter which burger you choose, the Liberty offers a unique combination of flavors. The Liberty boasts a full bar with 30 wines, 19 hand-crafted beers on tap, and 60 by the bottle.

Parking is limited, so take the light rail (which stops right in the Liberty’s parking lot!). The Liberty is casual enough for jeans but fancy enough for a special date. Burgers top out at $15, and it’s best to make reservations.

Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar

Bad Daddy’s has ten locations throughout North Carolina and serves the freshest, locally grown ingredients when possible. Exclusive choices are big hits with locals like the Magic Mushroom Burger topped with four types of sauteed mushrooms, a truffle aioli, and the highly recommended Bad Ass Burger – a huge 10-ounce American style patty – the perfect complement to Bad Daddy’s unruly style. Burgers at Big Daddy’s will set you back 12 bucks and don’t forget to sample their award-winning craft beer selection. Bad Daddy’s open Sunday through Wednesday until 10 p.m. and weekends until 11 p.m.

Pinky’s Westside Grill

Pinky’s is the classic, go-to, hometown burger joint for many Charlotte residents with its vintage pinball machines and real jukebox. Featuring a mouth-watering mix of flavors like their White Trash Burger with provolone, fried pickles, and spicy ranch; or have your build-a-burger Ding Dong Style with crunchy peanut butter, honey-cilantro slaw, and hot sriracha sauce. Pinky’s is always serving up fast, friendly service, and you can’t miss it. It’s the place with the red, white and blue Volkswagen Bug on the roof. Pinky’s is open every day but Sunday until 11 p.m.

Cowbell Burger and Whiskey Bar

Cowbell likes to do things the old-fashioned way. Their beef patties are only 100-percent U.S.D.A. cuts of chuck and brisket ground by a real butcher and pressed by hand. This Uptown, gourmet burger eatery has a relaxed vibe inspired by Southern hospitality and classic rock and roll. Sample chef recommended flavors like the Jerry Garcia that’s smothered with sauteed onions and brown gravy or the Pilgrim, that features a turkey patty on a honey-wheat bun with bourbon bacon and barbecue sauce. Cowbell’s is open seven days a week until midnight or order your burger take-out. Most burgers at Cowbells are around $14.

In Charlotte, every restaurant in town takes it up a notch by adding its own over-the-top style. These are just a few of the tried-and-true best burgers in Charlotte.
