It’s possible you haven’t heard about heated wiper blades yet, as they’re not available in many stores yet. In North Carolina, we don’t have the constant cold that our northern states often experience this time of year but we do sometimes get ice and sleet that can cover our windshields and require scraping before we can see to drive our vehicles. Heated wiper blades would eliminate the need to scrape or wait a long time for the vehicle’s defroster to melt through the ice. Automatic Heating Elements

The way heated wiper blades work is through a temperature sensor. If the temperature drops to freezing or lower, the blades heating elements will automatically turn on and help melt the ice off your windshield as they move back and forth.

Heated Wiper Blades Availability and Installation

While the new heated blades are not yet available in all stores, you can likely find heated wiper blades that fit your vehicle online. They will come with installation instructions that most people can easily do on their own, but we’re happy to help you if needed. Price of Heated Wiper Blades

Heated blades are almost three times as expensive as regular replacement blades, but you have to decide if the added convenience is worth the extra cost! For some people, being able to melt the ice off their windshield before they go out to their car in the morning will be well worth the expense.
