When it’s time to get a larger vehicle because you have more to haul whether for a growing family or expanding collectibles, Mint Hill Toyota would like to help you determine between buying a minivan or an SUV.

First you must consider your everyday driving habits.  Ask yourself these questions.

Do you find yourself on rough terrain often, camping in the woods or finding the next best bike trail?  Do you enjoy the sound of a V8 motor rumbling down the road?  Or, are you just not ready to take the plunge into minivan-land?  If so, an SUV might be your best bet.

Do you cringe at the thought of children hopping out of the car and hitting the door on the adjacent vehicle?  If so, the sliding doors of a minivan would calm your fears.  Is gas mileage important to you?  Typically minivans have the better bang for your buck and can take you farther between fill ups.

How about bells and whistles?  Every SUV and minivan now have an abundance of options.  Both have benefits to keep the kids busy such as build in DVD players.  Many will keep you from getting lost with built-in navigation systems and if you go with leather interior the seat warmers are a nice bonus.

Of course the best way to decide between an SUV and a minivan is to test drive one yourself.  Write up a pros and cons list of your own and enjoy the roominess of your new larger vehicle.
