The US Department of Energy is committed to helping drivers learn more about MPG ratings and the options available to consumers who want to find fuel efficient cars.  Fueleconomy.gov allows drivers to compare vehicles to find the best fuel efficient vehicle that is ideal for each driver’s needs.  The EPA said that the difference between a car that averages 20 mpg and a 30 mpg vehicle can exceed over $4,000 over 5 years.  North Carolina Toyota has 2013 models with 40+ MPG fuel economy ratings.

 

    • 1. 2013 Toyota Prius c

      Drivers who are looking for a small car or a hatchback will be happy with the Prius c.  The EPA reported a combined fuel economy rating of 50 mpg for the Prius c and an average fuel cost of $1,050 a year.

        • 2. 2013 Prius and Prius Plug-in

          The Prius made an appearance again on the EPA’s list of large sedans.  The EPA average a combined 50+ MPG fuel economy rating when using gas.  According to the EPA, the Plug-In can reach nearly 95+ MPGe with gas and electric.  The fuel rating results in an average $950 savings in fuel costs each year when you purchase the Plug-In and $1,050 in the Prius.  The Prius also showed up on the EPA’s list of hatchbacks.

            • 3. 2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid

              The Camry Hybrid represents Toyota in the family sedan category.  The Camry Hybrid LE averages a combined 41 MPG and the XLE averages a combined 40 MPG.  The EPA reports that drivers could expect to see a $1,300 savings in fuel costs each year.
