The warm summer months are almost here and your Charlotte, NC Toyota dealer wants to make sure you are prepared and ready to hit the roadway. Here are some tips to help ensure you car is primed and set to go for your summer travels.

Car Check Up

First, if you have not had your car serviced in awhile, now is a good time to set up a service appointment. When was the last time your oil was changed or your tires were rotated? Tire Checks

With warmer temperatures your tire’s air pressure can be affected. Make sure you are regularly checking your tire pressure to ensure it is at the recommended level. It is also a good time to check your tire treads to see if your tires need to be replaced.

Fluid Checks

Make sure you take the time to check your oil level frequently during the summer months. You should also keep an eye on your transmission fluid and your brake fluid. If your brake fluid becomes low you will want to set an appointment to have your brakes checked.

Staying Prepared

Finally, make sure you are always prepared when you are on the road. Equip your car with an emergency road kit which should include items like roadside flares, jumper cables, a flashlight, a tire gauge and a car jack. It is also a good idea to carry a first aid kit and carrying a cell phone and some cash is always a smart thing to do. During the hot summer months it is also a good idea to have water on board to help prevent dehydration.
