According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, car accidents are the number cause of death for children under 12 years old. This is a very sad statistic that NC Toyota Dealerships hope to lower with these simple tips that will keep your child safer:

Getting the Right Child Seat – Make sure your child is using the right car seat for his or her size, weight, and age. You get more information at www.nhsta.gov about which seat to use, when to use each seat, and how long to use seats for.

Make Sure you Install your Child’s Car Seat Right. Check the manual that comes with your child seat to make sure you follow the directions exactly, as well as your Toyota manual to make sure everything is done right. Your local police and fire department will usually check your child seat to make sure it is installed right; most will even install it for you. Check with your local precinct and departments to find out when they offer this vital service.

Staying Focused- Make sure your child is comfortable for the ride, especially long trips. Do not text while driving, especially with your child in the car. Use a headset if you need to make a call. Keep noises with in the car to a minimum so you can monitor your child’s needs, and stay focused on driving with as few distractions as possible.

These are just a few safety tips that are offered by your NC Toyota Dealerships.
